Safeguarding

Safeguarding aims to protect children and young people from abuse and harm. The course covers recognizing signs of abuse, understanding collective and individual responsibilities, and the importance of creating a safe environment. It also addresses responding to allegations, effective record-keeping, and risk management.


CSE & CSA & county lines

This training covers child sexual exploitation (CSE), child criminal exploitation (CCE), and county lines. Participants learn to recognize signs of exploitation, understand its impact, and work with multi-agency partners. It also highlights laws against CSE and strategies to disrupt exploitation.

Missing from Home

This course focuses on the risks associated with children going missing. It explains the definition of ‘missing’, the reporting process, and the importance of Return Home Interviews. Participants learn about push and pull factors, risks during missing episodes, and contextual safeguarding.

Trauma-Informed Therapeutic Parenting

The course teaches the principles of therapeutic parenting and the impact of traumatic stress on child development. It covers recognizing attachment difficulties, promoting secure attachments, and the importance of empathy-based responses and self-care.

Professional Boundaries

Participants learn the importance of professional boundaries in building positive relationships. The course covers communication skills, consistency, transparency, and the impact of emotional boundaries. It also addresses the zones of helpfulness and boundary “holding”.

Safety Planning and Rapid Reviews

This training emphasizes creating and maintaining effective safety plans for children. It covers strategies for navigating crises, understanding the dynamic nature of safety plans, and the importance of regular reviews. Rapid reviews are also discussed for evaluating organizational approaches and informing policy decisions.

Counter Bullying

The course addresses different forms of bullying, including cyberbullying and workplace bullying. Participants learn to create a safe environment, recognize signs of bullying, understand its impact, and implement anti-bullying policies. It also covers the needs of victims and bystanders.

Risk Assessment and Risk Management

Participants learn to regularly evaluate risks for children and implement protective measures. The course covers assessing hazards, planning to reduce risks, contextual and community-based risks, and the difference between risk management and risk assessment. Continuous risk assessment and review processes are also discussed.

Safe Administration of Medication

The course covers legislation and procedures for safely administering medication to children. It includes storage procedures, using Medication Administration Records (MAR), understanding medication classifications, and handling emergencies. Confidentiality and security in medication procedures are also emphasized.

I’m Leanne Gilbey, RMN: – Expert Safety Trainer from London

For more than twenty years, Leanne Gilbey has been a guiding figure in the field of ​Health and Social Care. With 16 years dedicated to the NHS, she has served as a ​nurse in inpatient and Community Mental Health services. Working closely with ​multidisciplinary teams, Leanne has assisted both young people and adults in ​finding paths to improved mental health and overall well-being.

In her role as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, Leanne brings a wealth of ​experience to the Integrity team. Leanne is also trained in emotional regulat​ion interventions and cognitive behavioral approaches, skills she has refined over ​the years. Prior to specializing in mental health, Leanne worked in general nurs​ing war​d​s
